It's my dream to live in Italy.

Maybe not this grand but something within the same style on a smaller scale !

Patrick and Dorothee both began their creative careers in the Paris studio of Christian Liaigre, before Dorothee moved on to work for Philippe Starck.

The incredible experience behind the duo, along with their different view on design, is what they say is responsible for their unique aesthetic, ‘neither minimalist nor decorative’.

Perhaps their best-known work to date is their Parisian home – a converted 19th Century apartment. The entire space shows a sincere appreciation for merging a touch of classic with contemporary design. High ceilings, large rooms, and original timber panelling are the perfect backdrop for their extensive collection of custom furniture and art.

The materials throughout the spaces are effortless and elegant, whilst maintaining a high sense of character. In the kitchen a combination of three timbers, all used in different formats and colours, make up the cupboards, chevron parquetry floor and a gorgeous feature shelf, which cleverly supports the overhead cupboards.

Many of the beautifully detailed furniture pieces within the apartment are designed by Gilles & Boissier themselves, allowing the interiors and furniture to sit in harmony. In particular, we love the elaborate light pendant coupled with their simplistic console table in the hallway.

Overall the apartment is a perfect marriage of traditional and contemporary mod style with a simple but warm palette that is quietly balanced by Gilles & Boissier’s exquisite detailing, that they are so well known for.
